What is it: EdX is a free online learning platform that offers over 2,500 courses including ones made by MIT, Harvard, and the University of California-Berkeley. EdX is a mission-driven organization dedicated to changing traditional education by reducing financial, geographic, and access constraints. Law, history, physics , engineering, business, social sciences, computer science, public health, and artificial intelligence are among the areas covered by edX's MOOCs and interactive online classes (AI).
Who is it for: EdX learners range in age from 7 to 96, distributed as follows: Continuing learners (25+) — 63%. University age students (19–24) — 29%. High school students (13–18) — 8%.
Additional Information: Most courses can be seen for free in the audit track, but free certificates are not given out for edX courses. Only passing students enrolled in the paid certificate track receive certificates. The cost of this track varies depending on the course.
